For her doctoral research, Dr. Amy Herr examined the implementation of the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda in countries across the European Union, interviewing ministry members, government officials, policymakers, scholar-activists and practitioners in the field. In disseminating her research, Dr. Herr looks forward to contributing further to the field of peace studies.

Scholarly Interests 

Dr. Herr is interested in topics pertaining to peace and security, women's and gender studies, policy analysis, social justice, civic engagement, and volunteering. Her particular focus area is the European Union.

In addition to her WPS expertise, Dr. Herr has several years of peace consulting experience with organizations such as UN Women and Steps for Peace. Dr. Herr has completed project development work for WASH United, and has worked as an editor and report writer for organizations such as Schwarzkopf Foundation, the European Intercultural Forum, the Finnish Committee for European Security (WISE), and Crisis Management Centre (CMC) Finland. She has certifications in Gender, Peace, and Conflict as well as Mediation and Negotiation.
